S Royle Road - June 17 - July 3: S Royle Road will be closed from Legacy Trails apartments to S 15th Street/Wells Drive Monday, June 17 to Wednesday, July 3. Use detour route (PDF). The roundabout at S Royle Road and S 15th Street/Wells Drive will remain open.

This closure is necessary to complete roadway excavation, cement amend soil, place base rock, pour curbs and begin to top with asphalt for Phase 2 of Royle Road Corridor Improvements. By allowing the contractor to have full access to the site via a complete road closure, the project will be completed quicker, resulting in reduced cost for the City and ensuring that the project is completed prior to disruptions from the upcoming Pioneer Street Widening project. 

• Detour: A detour will be in place on Pioneer Street to S 56th Place, S 6th Way, Timm Road, and S 11th Street/Wells Drive. Detour Route (PDF).
• Access to the Cloverhill neighborhood will be provided at the intersection of S 15th Street/S 43rd Ave. 
• The roadway will be open on weekends, but the driving surface will be rock. Please use caution.

NE 279th Street - June 17-26: NE 279th St will be closed just west of the intersection of NE 279th St and NE 10th Ave on weekdays to allow for the installation of a sewer main. The closure with take place weekdays 7am – 5pm. 

Pioneer Street - June 18 & June 20: Single lane closures on Pioneer Street on an east bound lane just west of 56th Place and a west bound lane just west of 65th Avenue, June 18 and 20. This closure will allow City crews to perform landscape maintenance on the center medians on Pioneer Street.

Upcoming Traffic Impacts

Pioneer Widening and 50th Place Roundabout Project: Ridgefield's vision for a safer and more efficient transportation network between Interstate 5 and Royle Road will take a significant step forward this summer with the start of the Pioneer Widening and 50th Place Roundabout project. This capital project is one piece of a group of transportation projects in the area designed to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and accommodate future growth in our vibrant community.

Recognizing the disruptions that these road construction projects will bring, the City of Ridgefield is committed to keeping the community informed every step of the way. Any closures affecting Pioneer Street will be announced at least two weeks in advance, providing ample time for residents to plan alternate routes. Learn more about the project.
