Ridgefield Traffic Impacts

This newsletter provides the most up-to-date information about road construction in the City limits and traffic impacts caused by these projects.

279th Street between NE 10th Avenue and NE 16th Ave - CLOSED - September 22 - December 19: A full road closure will be effect on Monday, September 22 through Friday, December 19 on 279th Street between NE 10th Avenue and NE 16th Avenue to allow contractors to complete sewer line installation associated with the Greely Farms development. A temporary gravel detour road is in place to maintain access to residences during the closure. This closure will shift east on 279th Street with the pipe installation, ensuring all properties maintain access through construction. View map (PDF)

S 25th Pl, S 4th Way, and S 21st Pl - PERIODIC SINGLE LANE CLOSURES - December 11 - December 29: Periodic single lane closures will be in effect beginning Thursday, December 11 through Monday, December 29 on S 25th Place, S 4th Way, and S 21st Place to allow contractors to complete landscaping in planter strips for Ridgefield Heights.

S Royle Rd - SINGLE LANE CLOSURE - December 15 - December 17, 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM: A single lane closure will be in effect on Monday, December 15 through Wednesday, December 17 on S Royle Road, just South of Pioneer Street, between the hours of 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM to allow contractors to complete boring for fiber install.

Pioneer Widening

The City is in the midst of a major infrastructure project along Pioneer Street between 56th Place and Royle Road. This work began in Summer 2024 and is anticipated to be complete Fall 2025. Project information.

All lanes on Pioneer Street are open outside of work hours — a major milestone in the project!

Pioneer Street: Four Lanes OPEN. Intermittent lane closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.
Discovery Drive and Pioneer Canyon Drive: OPEN. Occasional intermittent closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.
53rd Place: OPEN. Occasional intermittent closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.

Please slow down (25 mph work zone speed limit) and pay close attention to signage, cones, lane markings and flaggers.
