Last week crews winterized the Overlook Park Splash Pad following a successful community test period in October.
After a series of repairs, we opened the Splash Pad for a “test drive” throughout October while we confirmed the system would continue working as designed. And Ridgefield, you showed up! In t-shirts, swimsuits, rain jackets and boots, families came out to enjoy the simple fun of running through the water. Thank you for helping us make this test a success.
Throughout the month, the system performed as designed: recirculating, treating and spraying water safely and efficiently.
Per Clark County Public Health rules, the Splash Pad will remain off until May. During the off-season, City staff will finalize the operations plan, complete additional improvements and train more team members in daily maintenance and safety procedures.
We look forward to celebrating the official grand opening of the Splash Pad in May 2026, where we will kick off a season full of splashing and fun in the heart of Downtown Ridgefield!
