Historic Walking Tour

Historic Photo of Main StreetDowntown Ridgefield is home to many historical sites, including homes, churches, theaters, and banks.

A self-guided walking tour was created for the City’s centennial in 2009 in order to help residents and visitors explore Ridgefield’s rich history. The tour has been rountinely updated to reflect current uses of historic buildings.

Find the tour embedded below, open the Tour Guide (PDF), or import the tour electronically onto your smartphone!

Use Tour Map Online

You can easily complete the tour using the above map right from your phone or tablet! Click the button in the top right corner of the map to open the map full size in a new tab. Start at 1 and make your way through the tour as you travel around downtown Ridgefield! 

To learn about each site you visit, click on the number associated with it on the map. You will then be able to read the description and possibly view associated photos!

Use the Printable PDF Tour Guide

View and print the PDF Tour Guide (PDF). Once you have printed the guide, simply begin at the Hardware Store and follow instructions to reach each new location.
