The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to City of Ridgefield for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2023.
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the city’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. This is the tenth consecutive year that the City of Ridgefield has earned this award.
City Manager Steve Stuart commended Finance Director Kirk Johnson and his team for their exceptional work, stating, “For ten consecutive years, this award has highlighted Ridgefield’s dedication to transparency and accountability. This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to fostering economic stability and ensuring our city is prepared to meet the evolving needs of our community.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
