Earlier this week, Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Lindsay, Councilmember Rob Aichele and City Manager Steve Stuart traveled to Washington D.C. to personally advocate for Ridgefield’s community projects with our federal representatives and federal agency staff.
The team met with Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Senator Maria Cantwell, and Senator Patty Murray’s staff to develop a personal relationship and ask for support with funding for infrastructure to support Ridgefield’s growth, such as:
- Final phase of South Royle Road Corridor Improvement
- Kennedy Well Project
- Waterfront Park Project
- Construction of the 11th Street Overpass
While meeting with Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, Mayor Pro Tem Lindsay noticed that the coasters that she had gifted the Congresswoman last year had been in use in her office. The coasters were custom made with our Ridgefield city logo and a Spudder burned into the wood.

While in the Capitol, leadership also met with the United States Departments of Agriculture, Justice, and Transportation and FEMA to discuss potential federal grant funding opportunities.
